Tamsulosin Capsules
A selective alpha-blocker for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Indications
Treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage & administration
One 0.4 mg capsule once daily after the same meal each day; swallow whole.
Mechanism of action
Selectively blocks alpha1-adrenoceptors in the prostate and bladder neck, easing urinary flow.
Important safety information
- May cause orthostatic hypotension, particularly at initiation.
- Inform ophthalmologist before cataract surgery.
- Use with caution with other alpha-blockers.
