Salbutamol Inhalation Aerosol
A short-acting beta2-agonist bronchodilator for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and reversible obstructive airway disease.
Indications
Relief of bronchospasm in asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Dosage & administration
One to two inhalations as needed for acute symptoms; two inhalations 15 minutes before exercise for prevention. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose without medical advice.
Mechanism of action
Stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, producing rapid airway relaxation.
Important safety information
- Increasing use may indicate worsening asthma requiring reassessment.
- Use with caution in cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism or diabetes.
- May cause tremor, headache or transient tachycardia.
