Indications
Treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents.
Dosage & administration
600 mg once daily, preferably at bedtime and on an empty stomach to reduce nervous-system effects.
Mechanism of action
Non-competitively inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, blocking viral replication.
Important safety information
- May cause dizziness, vivid dreams or mood changes, usually transient.
- Numerous drug interactions; review concomitant therapy.
- Avoid in known hypersensitivity.
