Bisoprolol Tablets
A selective beta-blocker for hypertension, angina and stable chronic heart failure.
Indications
Treatment of hypertension and angina, and adjunctive treatment of stable chronic heart failure.
Dosage & administration
Individualised; usually initiated at a low dose and titrated. Do not discontinue abruptly.
Mechanism of action
Selectively blocks beta1-adrenergic receptors, reducing heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand.
Important safety information
- Do not stop abruptly; taper under supervision.
- Use with caution in asthma and peripheral vascular disease.
- May mask signs of hypoglycaemia.
