Amoxicillin / Clavulanate Tablets
A broad-spectrum penicillin combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor for bacterial infections.
Indications
Treatment of susceptible respiratory, urinary, skin and soft-tissue infections.
Dosage & administration
One tablet twice daily, or as directed; take at the start of a meal. Complete the full course.
Mechanism of action
Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis; clavulanate protects it from beta-lactamase.
Important safety information
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitivity.
- Discontinue if signs of hepatic dysfunction occur.
- May cause diarrhoea; report severe or persistent cases.
